Alina Morar holds a Master’s Degree in Fashion Design from the University of Arts and Design in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
During her studies, she received numerous awards, including the Elle Style Award for Best Young Designer in 2014.
As part of her academic program, she interned at the London-based Meadham Kirchhoff studio, which motivated her to relocate to London after graduation. It was in London that she was inspired to merge her experience, identity as a designer, and passion for leather into what would become HOUSE OF COMPULSION in 2018 – a tribute to her favorite product, the motorcycle jacket.
In 2019, Alina returned to Romania, aiming to establish a strong foundation there and to harness the underappreciated yet incredibly valuable resources and talent of her hometown. That same year, she opened HoC Studio, where House of Compulsion’s leather products are handcrafted, and the motorcycle jacket is reimagined daily.
In 2022, Alina won the Elle Style Award for Best Designer, a splendid recognition of House of Compulsion’s four years of existence. For more information, visit houseofcompulsion.com
